Good governance is of the utmost importance to us.

The Organizing Committee of the Optinam 2008, governed by the board of Foundation Youth Sailing Netherlands Antilles, consists of volunteers that are fully dedicated to creating a playing field for young children to compete fiercely, gain a great variety of skills, and make lifelong friendships.

The volunteers invest a tremendous amount of time which of course is invaluable. The support from local companies, institutions and government, by means of services, goods and funds is indispensable.

Therefore it is vital that all these assets are used in line with the goals for which we, as an organization strive. To accomplish this, separations in functions have been created throughout our organization. Further to this, the well established accounting firm Price Waterhouse Coopers will act as auditor to the Optinam 2008 for the purpose of income and expenditure. Although the aforementioned measures can not guarantee that errors, fraud or other illegal acts will not occur, the chances are reduced to a minimum.
